The Selfish Crocodile
Played 4th - 22nd October, 2011 at PJ Live Arts
Performed by Blunderbus Theatre Company
Produced by Chae Lian & Richard Gardner
The Selfish Crocodile UK's Blunderbus Theatre for children returned with the very first show they brought out to us in 2008, but this time completely rewritten and redesigned. Yet again, the Faustin Charles adaptation got rave reviews and saw audiences of all ages respond enthusiastically to their giant puppetry, catchy songs, comedic characters - and above all, the company's tremendous ability to imaginatively interact with their young audiences.
This best-selling children's story by Faustin Charles and Michael Terry comes to life in this delightful stage adaptation by UK's Blunderbus Theatre Company. The 50-minute show tells the story of a crocodile who terrorised the frightened forest animals who attempted to get near the river, and how one kind and courageous mouse changed everything!

The Selfish Crocodile teaches positive messages like honesty, compassion and the importance of friendship, while reminding kids that sometimes the smallest acts of kindness are the ones that often have the greatest impact. This story is written especially for children aged 4 to 7, but adults will find the show thoroughly entertaining too!
JEANNETTE LONGWORTH pictureJEANNETTE LONGWORTH studied at Richmond Drama School and then Coventry Centre for Performing Arts. On graduating, she co-founded The Purple Scorpio Theatre Company with a fellow student. This small-scale theatre-in-education company devised and toured plays to infant and junior schools in the UK. She subsequently became a qualified teacher, specialising in teaching students with learning difficulties and behavioural issues. Jeannette eventually returned to London to pursue her acting career. She joined Blunderbus for a five-month tour and stayed on! She has also extended her acting skills to include being an Assistant Director, Company Manager, Tour Manager and a sound desk operator. As a Theatre Bookings Manager, Jeannette liaises with theatres regarding bookings, contracts and technical requirements. In her non-acting world, her greatest achievements are completing the London Marathon, and having friends who think she is competent enough to be a God-mother.
