A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum Stephen Sondheim’s A FUNNY THING HAPPENED ON THE WAY TO THE FORUM starred the irrepressible Chef Wan and a cast of seventeen in his first English language theatre production. Despite competition from the heavily promoted mega-musical Fame, the show drew favourable reviews for British musical director, Simon Grey, and his excellent work with the nine-piece orchestra. Sponsors included Akademi Seni Kebangsaan, The Malaysian Tourism Centre, Technics, and The Parkroyal Kuala Lumpur.

Right from the start, Pseudolus is Chef Wan… kudos to director Richard Gardner for having the genius of casting Chef Wan, the best thing he ever did for this show.
